On August 29 2005 Hurricane Katrina struck the Mississippi Gulf Coast of the USA as a Category 4 storm strengthening to a Category 5 with sustained winds of over 150mph. It made Landfall in Gulfport Mississippi, also striking New Orleans, Louisiana. The devastation in these areas as we remember was extensive.
On May 11 and 12 2006, nine months after Katrina struck these locations, we revisited Gulfport, MS and New Orleans, LA to the Lower ninth Ward which was the area greatest affected by the intense flooding after the Levees were breached, in order to view the destruction for ourselves.
